Kia представила последний «супергеройский» автомобиль проекта «We Can Be Heroes»

Автопроизводитель Kia совместно с издательством комиксов DC Entertainment провели презентацию последнего «супергеройского» авто в рамках общего проекта. Напомним, кроссовер Kia Sorento, посвященный серии комиксов «Лига справедливости», был представлен на выставке Comic-Con в Сан-Диего. Созданием и проектированием автомобиля занимался художник Джим Ли.

Конечно, маркетологический отдел компании не рассчитывает на массовый спрос модели и не надеется повторить успех kia quoris, отмечает московский дилерский центр Актив Моторс. Однако новый кроссовер должен получить признание со стороны ценителей комикса. «Супергеройский» автомобиль выйдет в единичном экземпляре.

Примечательно, что новинка посвящена сразу всем ключевым персонажам «Лиги справедливости». Она составит компанию еще 7 автомобилям серии в интерактивной зоне выставки на Petco Park, где будут представлены модели Batman Optima, Flash Forte Koup, Aquaman Rio, Cyborg Forte, Green Lantern Soul, Superman Optima Hybrid, Wonder Woman Sportage.

Разработкой тюнинговых шоу-каров Kia занимается в рамках кампании «We Can Be Heroes», помогая в борьбе с засухой и голодом в Восточной Африке. Все машины планируется продать с электронного аукциона eBay. Совместными усилиями Kia и DC Entertainment удалось собрать уже около 2,3 млн долларов.

Unveiled in conjunction with the 2013 New York International Auto Show, this uniquely customized Sportage signals the continuation of a 10-month, eight vehicle partnership between Kia and DC Entertainment based on the iconic characters that make up the Justice League – Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. “As one of the most well-known Super Heroes in the world, Wonder Woman portrays an impressive balance of power, agility and confidence, all of which are inherent characteristics of the Kia Sportage crossover,” said Michael Sprague, executive vice president, marketing & communications, KMA. “Like the rest of the Justice League-inspired vehicles, this customized Sportage signifies a meaningful collaboration between cars and pop-culture. And for the first time, here in New York, all seven vehicles are standing together in one place to raise awareness for DC Entertainment’ s very worthy ‘We Can Be Heroes’ giving campaign.”

The Wonder Woman-inspired Sportage features a sleek and stylish look thanks to an aero kit which grants a streamlined but powerful appearance. The red and blue exterior color scheme, accented with stars, was derived directly from Wonder Woman’s outfit, while the gold trim wrapped around the vehicle represents the heroine’s weapon of choice, «The Lasso of Truth.» Up front, Wonder Woman’s eagle chest-plate emblem was creatively integrated into the production grille and is flanked by blue headlight beams, which reflect her piercing blue eyes. The Sportage’s windshield features a banner portraying Wonder Woman’s tiara, and the chrome side panels on the vehicle are graphical interpretations of her invisible jet. Beneath, the 5-spoke wheel design was chosen to match the stars on the exterior of the vehicle.

Within, red upholstery and dash pieces combined with blue LED lighting were added to continue the Sportage’s exterior color scheme into the cabin. The custom seats were inspired by Wonder Woman’s signature garb and embroidered with her logo, while the cargo area of the vehicle is adorned with stars and an eagle and features a see-through panel, which displays Wonder Woman’s tiara, bracelets and glowing Lasso of Truth.

“It’s exciting to join Kia in revealing the final car to represent a member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman, at the New York Auto Show,” stated Jim Lee, co-publisher of DC Entertainment. “This joint effort to raise awareness for the ‘We Can Be Heroes’ giving campaign continues to be a huge draw for fans across the country, and I’m sure New Yorkers will agree that the new Wonder Woman-inspired Sportage is a ‘must see’ feature at the show.”

Media Release — DC Entertainment (DCE) opened San Diego Comic-Con today with a blend of artistry and giving, unveiling the JUSTICE LEAGUE-inspired Kia Sorento, the eighth and final custom vehicle built in partnership with Kia Motors America. The Sorento’s eye-catching design was penned by legendary comic book artist and DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Jim Lee, who completed the customization of the car before a live audience. Created to raise awareness of DC Entertainment’s “We Can Be Heroes” giving campaign, the collection of all eight JUSTICE LEAGUE-inspired Kia vehicles will be on display throughout Comic-Con at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park, Official Comic-Con Partner.

Following the unveiling, DCE President Diane Nelson announced that the newly revealed JUSTICE LEAGUE car would be the centerpiece of a special online charity auction on eBay which benefits the “We Can Be Heroes” campaign. Nelson announced that the 10-day charity auction was now live through July 27, 2013 at www.ebay.com/wecanbeheroes.

“Our goal in 2013 was to bring our fans and the JUSTICE LEAGUE Super Heroes together in unique ways to fight the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa. That effort started with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities we’ve been able to offer through our crowdfunding campaigns that have raised over $285,000 to-date,” Nelson said. “Now, through these tremendous partnerships with Kia and eBay, the auction will take the offerings to a whole new level with a truly one-of-a-kind, and fully driveable, CUV customized by Jim Lee.”

The seven-seat Sorento marks the final chapter in a 10-month, eight-vehicle partnership between DC Entertainment and Kia based on the iconic characters that make up the JUSTICE LEAGUE – Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg – each of which are featured on their own car designed by Lee. The final car captures the entire JUSTICE LEAGUE, as drawn by Jim Lee, with world-famous West Coast Customs recreating Lee’s artwork through hand-painted, custom air-brushing.

“This project has been challenging and rewarding for me as an artist and Kia has been a terrific partner,” Lee said. “It was a lot of fun to finish the last car in front of the live audience and I think anyone that visits the exhibit this week will really enjoy seeing all eight cars together.”

The online charity auction also includes spectacular artwork from some of today’s top contemporary artists and inspired by DC Comics’ JUSTICE LEAGUE characters. The centerpiece of this collection is Justice, a large-scale piece of original artwork by Jim Lee that features the profile of Batman in a color palette inspired by the hues of Africa – yellow, green, red and black.

“Auctioning the Justice League-inspired Sorento is the perfect way to finish off what has been a very positive and successful partnership between Kia and DC Entertainment to benefit the ‘We Can Be Heroes’ campaign,” said Michael Sprague, executive vice president, marketing & communications, Kia Motors America. “Like all of the Justice League-inspired vehicles before it, this customized Sorento blends the automotive and pop-culture worlds while also allowing Kia to extend our philanthropic efforts to support this very worthy cause.”
