Kia Mohave покидает Америку, но остается в России
Корейская компания Kia прекращает продажи моделей Borrego и Rondo на рынке США. На российском рынке машины продаются под именами Mohave и Carens, соответственно. По информации российского офиса Kia, оба автомобиля остаются на нашем рынке — их продажи у нас растут.
Продажи Borrego и Rondo в США в 2010 году резко упали, в то время как вся марка Kia в целом продемонстрировала рост в 19% по сравнению с 2009 годом.
Kia продала в США 9 835 Borrego в прошлом году, что на 7% ниже показателей 2009 года. А объем продаж Rondo снизился на внушительные 75%, составив 3 588 машин.
В России в 2009 году было продано всего 130 Kia Mohave, так как продажи модели стартовали лишь в октябре. В 2010 было реализовано – 608 автомобилей.
Минивэн Kia Carens в 2009 году разошелся на отечественном рынке тиражом в 747 автомобилей. В 2010 этот показатель поднялся до 856 машин.
В этом году российское представительство Kia планирует реализовать более 1500 машин каждой модели.
Напомним, что корейская компания планирует запустить в России сборку нового поколения модели Rio, которая будет стоить дешевле, чем Hyundai Solaris.

Динамичный разгон в городе, маневренная, малый радиус разворота, приличная проходимость по снегу и грязи. Вместительная и комфортная для 7 человек. Хороший обзор при парковке (4 камеры) и управляемость. Хорошая комплектация (полная). При спокойной езде вполне экономичная. С дополнительным подогревателем зимой тепло. Не дорогая в эксплуатации (не дорогая стоимость владения).
Главное- не работает электрический предварительный подогреватель салона (причем на всех машинах этого выпуска, о чем не все покупатели знают). По мелочам- неплохо бы дорегулировать пневмоподвеску для устранения раскачивания на волнах; побольше бы места для багажа и место для багажной шторки при разложенном 3-м ряде; надежность датчика пневмы так и не повышена: опять отказ; почти нет крючков для груза в багажнике.
Вообще машина то хороша, может даже интереснее предыдущей версии,только вот производитель бросил свое предыдущее произведение на полпути к вершине: вместо того, чтобы довести ее до ума бросился штамповать другие модели. Конечно по каждому из показателей есть машинки и получше, чем Мохав, однако по сочетанию свойств да за такие деньги вряд ли найдется. Однако интересно, на новой модели так же не работает предварительный электроподогреватель салона. Я полтора года вместе с нашим дилером пытаюсь добиться от производителя исправления этого врожденного дефекта. А там то и делов- исправление программы управления климатконтроля. Причем я знаю, что этот дефект не только у меня- может быть даже у всех машин, выпущенных после 2017 г. А зимой с дизелем без этой фишки в салоне долго холодно. Что касается остальных проблем, в том числе подвески, то тут есть над чем работать- раскачка на волнах не слабая (головой потолок пробиваешь), да и датчик пневмы сдох после года эксплуатации . Как впрочем и над некоторыми другими вопросами, например куда девать шторку при разложенном третьем ряде сидений?
2023 Kia Mohave Video Shows Us The Tough SUV The US Can’t Have
When you want a Kia SUV that can go off-roading, you have to choose between the Sorento and the Telluride in the US. These two differ in size but unfortunately, both of them come with unibody construction, which isn’t exactly ideal for tough situations. For the more traditional crowd, body-on-frame SUVs are still the weapon of choice.
But did you know that Kia once sold a body-on-frame SUV in the US in the name of the Borrego? It was pulled off the market in 2010 due to poor sales, never to return again. In Korea, however, it soldiered on as the 2023 Kia Mohave.

Now on its second facelift based on the Masterpiece Concept from 2019, the Kia Mohave still uses the same old platform as the Borrego’s, though heavily updated for the modern times. It’s currently being sold in South Korea, and this video from Asian Petrolhead gives us a preview of what the US has been missing in the supposed tough SUV.
The Kia Mohave is slightly bigger than the Sorento but smaller than the Telluride, hence the limited yet adequate cabin space as explained by the 6’2″ presenter of the video above. The ride height’s taller, as well, which is expected since it rides on a ladder-frame chassis.
The Bigger American Counterpart:
Another feature that we’re missing is the Mohave’s turbodiesel V6 that’s good for 253 horsepower (189 kilowatts) and 413 pound-feet (560 Newton-meters) of torque. This oil-burner is equipped with a new device to reduce emissions due to regulations in Korea. Moreover, a rear-biased, all-wheel-drive system is also available as an option in Korea, paired with terrain modes. This makes this SUV ready for various terrains, something that off-roaders will definitely appreciate.
For pricing, the 2023 Kia Mohave starts at $41,100 (at current exchange rates) and ceilings to nearly $49,000 for the range-topping Mohave Gravity.
